The Helen Ainslie School of Bellydance offers students the chance to learn and master the basics of all styles of bellydance and then progress through improver and intermediate to advanced levels. Most classes are held in mirrored, air-conditioned studios.

Which class is right for me?
Here are some example profiles to help you decide which is the right class for you.
Beginner: no bellydance or other dance experience; wants to get into a regular exercise routine without going to the gym or a traditional exercise class; wants to tone up and get in shape.
Improver: has attended several beginner classes and is ready to be challenged over and above what they have already learned; has a solid grasp of the basic figures of bellydance and is keen to attempt more advanced moves; has performed group pieces in end of term shows; attends workshops occasionally.
Intermediate: dances basic moves with ease and practices regularly at home; has performed a solo or is considering performing a solo; attends workshops; watches professional bellydance showcases and concerts; has some knowledge of the main Egyptian rhythms and instruments of the Egyptian orchestra; has an understanding of musical interpretation; is keen to perform and committed to group performances.
Advanced: regularly attends workshops and festivals; has several years training and performance experience; has a sound knowledge of the structure of Egyptian music and can appropriately choreograph their own routines to complex classical Egyptian pieces; has knowledge of other Middle Eastern dance style and music; wishes to undertake semi-professional work.
